The Luke Family in Plano
Two little boys in a Plano Texas home on a regular afternoon and we showed up with two cameras and left with something that will outlast all of us.
Nothing complicated. A family in their own space, two kids doing what two kids do, and analog film and 16mm running side by side to catch every bit of it. The still frames caught the quiet moments. The 16mm caught everything in between. And in between is where most of the good stuff lives with boys this age.
At Their Own Pace
They did not slow down once. We did not ask them to. The whole session moved fast and loud and then suddenly soft when one of them climbed into a parent’s lap for exactly thirty seconds before he was off again. Film catches that thirty seconds the way nothing else does. Warm and grainy and completely true.
The Home
There is something about a family in their own home that a park or a studio cannot give you. The light that comes through a specific window. The couch that has everyone’s shape in it. The rooms that know this family better than anywhere else on earth. We just showed up and let the house tell us where to point the camera.
